NOTE: DRACULA'S GUEST was excised from the original DRACULA MSS by his publisher because of the length of the original book MSS. It was published as a short story in 1914, two years after Stoker's death. Enjoy!

I enjoyed it a lot 24.3.36.164 17:59, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

In this story, the name of the maitre d'hotel is Delbruck. In the Mel Brooks movie "Young Frankenstein", a loving parody of old horror movies, the name on the "good" brain that is dropped and destroyed is Hans Delbruck. Gene Wilder, who penned the screenplay and starred in the movie, is just sly enough to have buried this obscure little reference, knowing that sooner or later someone is going to get it.

This was to be the original 1st chapter of the novel. Thankfully, Stoker's widow published it after his death.
