00:56, 23 July 2020 (UTC)Ndemr2 (talk)The Hymn Book of the Anglican Church of Canada and the United Church of Canada (1971) has "... ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, *who like thee his praise should sing?*.

Hymns Ancient and Modern (london), various editions, has the last (4th) verse as: "Angels in the height, adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face; Saints triumphant, bow before Him, Gather'd in from every race; Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise with us the God of grace."

Several other hymn books have "Angels, help us to adore him; Ye behold him face to face; Sun and moon, bow down before him, Dwellers all in time and space. Praise him! Praise him! Praise with us the God of grace."

The former version may seem more realistic in terms of bowing, and it also brings in the saints, rightly in a non-racist manner. However, it does omit our request to the angels for help.

It would be interesting to know which version was written by the author, the Revd Henry Francis Lyte.
