Notes by initial contributor[edit]

NB: These notes apply to an earlier version of this page. The transcript is in the public domain. Photos are not included in the transcription; see each photo page for the applicable license. Standard Wikisource licenses and policies apply in all cases. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 13:37, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

  • Although the original text as it appears on the column is in the public domain (being presumably long out of copyright), the transcript and photos here are copyrighted by me and maybe others, and are licensed under the GFDL. This means that you are free to publish them, but only in works which you also explicitly license under the GFDL. Note that the transcript may contain errors which would identify it (though certainly no deliberate errors). I may be amenable to emailed requests to use my initial version in a work published under another substantially "free" licence, e.g. one of the Creative Commons licences.

Caveat[edit]

  • I am not a historian/geographer, so may have misread some of the place-names. You may wish to check these against the photos.

Note to editors[edit]

  • Please only edit the transcript in such a way as to correct any mis-transcription from the original which is shown in the photos below. You might consider some of the English in the original to be incorrect — particularly the idiosyncratic capitalisation, and some of the punctuation — but please do not change it merely for this reason. Thanks.

Photo of monument[edit]

  • This is not strictly part of the source material, so I've moved it to the talk page, but just to add a little context to the text, here is a photo of the whole monument.
