Volume 15 Contents to do. Next stage linking/creating author pages. Creating title links, then article pages.

Index to do-Contents by Issue, Section e.g. Reviews, Articles

Proofreading[edit]

  • Every second heading needs fixing.
  • Line between paragraphs is missing.
  • Very common OCR mistakes - philosophie (German) as philosophic; l'x (French) as 1'x i.e. letter l as number 1; Tightness for rightness; denned for defined; generate for générale(French); cent, for cent.;

Idiosyncrasies[edit]

  • Spelling: Coördinate; reëstablish; preëminent; coëxist; æsthetic; naïve
  • Volumes are collections of issues which were published consecutively through the year, bimonthly. The issues are organised into sections: Articles, Discussions, Notices of New Books, Reviews of Books, Summaries of Articles, Notes. The Volumes’ contents list the sections’ titles, collected together from the issues. So the contents do not reflect the publishing timeline. This can be confusing where discussions have continued through the issues; the timeline can be followed by noting the page numbers…

Each individual section title will be transcluded, [[The_Philosophical_Review/Volume_n/Section/Title]]. Navigation as per Volume Contents. Titles spanning issues will be transcluded together. E.g. The_Philosophical_Review/Volume_1/Articles/On Some Psychological Aspects of the Chinese Musical System will include section I (.djvu/70 to /94) and II (.djvu/170 to /)

Each Volume's section to be transcluded series of articles, or TOC?

Issues to be transcluded by page number e.g. The_Philosophical_Review/Volume_1/Issue 1 is Page:Philosophical Review Volume 1.djvu/17 to Page:Philosophical Review Volume 1.djvu/144. A TOC to the Issue’s sections added.

A TOC for the Issues to be added to the Volume Contents on transcluded page.

@Ineuw: Could you give me some feedback on this proposal to organise the title names and addresses? And how tricky is it to do something like {{PSM link}} for the Philosophical Review? I'm linking the Contents. — Zoeannl (talk) 11:27, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Gladly, Let me look at how the Philosophical Review is structured and we'll take it from there. — Ineuw talk 18:16, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Correct me if I am wrong. I made this up, by looking at the first article listed in the contents on THIS PAGE The Philosophical Review/Volume 1/Natural Science and the Philosophy of Nature. The difference between the PSM title and PR title are the number of segments would be in the template. PSM requires 4 segments and PR would require 3. I propose to copy {{PSM link}} and make a template named {{PR link|Article|Volume|Article Title}}, while also retaining the options listed at the bottom of the PSM template. — Ineuw talk 18:52, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking of doing [[The_Philosophical_Review/Volume_n/Section/Title]] because the Volumes' Contents list the issues' articles by section (as above). But that may be superfluous? Is PSM link used mostly for Author's pages? Are the overrides used often (I haven't got my head around them)? Cheers, Zoeannl (talk) 02:37, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all, it's used to refer to an article from anywhere one places it. It's also used on many portals. Look at Portal:Mexico where I used it. Your example above indicates also four segments, which is less work to rearrange. My advice would be is that you create one main namespace page as you want it, and then I can convert a copy of the "PSM link" to a "PR link" working copy. By the way, we have a version of the same template on Wikipedia which links to PSM articles. — Ineuw talk 06:10, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
