Copyright status of translation unknown; primary work is public domain.
According to further research, the 1732 English translation appears to be what brought the word "vampire" into the English language. That, combined with the fact that the translation reads like it was written centuries ago, should eliminate virtually any idea that this might be a copyright violation.
