[edit] Discrepency

Odd that the April 20th and April 28th letters (of 1970) vary in whether he writes PS or P.S. shrugs Sherurcij 23:11, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Currupt images

While we're on the discussion, are the latter two images at Zodiac_Killer_letters#August_4th_1969 not working for a reason? Sherurcij 04:19, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

(Discussion moved from Wikisource:Proposed deletions.) The images appear to be corrupt. You should create fresh copies, either by rescanning them or by re-saving them in an image editor. // Pathoschild (editor / talk) 04:36, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank You

I have heavy intrest in the Zodiac and this resource of letters is massive and intresting. -10:38, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Well that just validated my hours of work putting them up and copying them, thank you for being interested! :) Sherurcij (talk) (CRIMINALS ARE MADE, NOT BORN) 13:36, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dates of publication

These are almost certainly {{PD-US-no-notice}}. However we really should collect the date of publication to be "dotting the i's and crossing the t's". The desk carving is likely uncopywritable and I suggest using {{PD-manifesto}}.--BirgitteSB 16:35, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

The source of publication should also be given for the letters that do not already include it. --Benn Newman (AMDG) 20:28, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Other than the desk carving, all were printed in newspapers...thought most of them mentioned that, I'll take a look on Tuesday when I have more time, try to fix up the headers on ones that are unclear. As per Birgitte, you mean affixing a separate tag for each letter, or just throwing both templates at the bottom of the articlespace? Sherurcij (talk) (λεμα σαβαχθανει) 04:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

"October 5th 1970" does not list where it was mailed to. Other that I think the letter mailed to Melvin Belli is a copyvio and that the rest are fine as {{PD-US-no-notice}} from my current understanding of the issue. --BirgitteSB 05:42, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Crimelibrary reports that Belli widely publicized his contact with the Zodiac Killer - which of course doesn't 100% prove beyond any doubt that the letter was published in the newspapers, but I think it's a safe presumption that Belli released the letter in his attempts for publicity, in 1969, meaning it would also qualify for {{PD-US-no-notice}}. Google says the October 5th one was mailed to the San Francisco Chronicle Sherurcij (talk) (λεμα σαβαχθανει) 01:44, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
