Usage

This template allows editors to link to Wikipedia without having always to use a second parameter.

An optional second parameter, if supplied, changes the appearance of the link.

It is also helpful when the pipe character "|" might interfere with conditional statements (see Conditional tables)

Example

• {{w|United States}} (United States) is equivalent to [[w:United States|United States]] (United States).

• {{w|United States|U.S.}} (U.S.) is equivalent to [[w:United States|U.S.]] (U.S.).
