Blundell, Colonel John Eyles, C.B. retired; Taunton; b. 1843; 4th s. of late Major G. S. Blundell, Bengal Army; Educ.: Sherborne School; Royal Military Coll. Sandhurst; Joined 67th Regiment, 1863; served with 67th Regiment during the Taiping rebellion in China. 1863; D.A.A.General, Madras, 1876-79; served with 67th Regiment in Afghan campaign, 1879-80; A.A.General, Madras and Burmah, 1882-87; Burmah campaign, 1885 87: commanded Touhon Expedition, Upper Burmah, 1889-90; commanded 2nd Hampshire Regiment, 1892-96. Decorated for war services. Queen’s Jubilee, 1897. Address: Cox & Co., 16 Charing Cross, S.W. Club: Army and Navy.
