Wilson of Milford House, Hants; called to Bar (Middle Temple), 1872; joined Indian Army (Bengal Infantry), 1859; posted as Deputy Commissioner, Lahore, 1873; Superintendent, Simla Hill States, 1877-81; Commissioner of Delhi, 1884; Rawalpindi and Peshawar, 1885 and 1886, respectively; Resident at Kashmir. 1888-92; promoted to the rank of Colonel, 1889; retired, 1892; Fellow, London University.
