(retired); joined service in Madras, 1841; Assistant Civil Engineer, 1844; posted to Ganjam, 1854; transferred to Rajahmundry, 1855; Consulting Engineer, Madras Irrigation and Canals, 1859; Chief Engineer and Joint Secretary to Government of Bengal, 1867; promoted to first grade, 1869; Inspector-General of Irrigation and Deputy Secretary to Gevernment of India, 1872-74; retired, 1881.
