Sen, Satyendra Nath, B.A., Attorney-at-Law, Calcutta, and Editor, the Indian Mirror, Calcutta; s. of late Rai Bahadur Norendra Nath Sen; b. at Kanchrapara, Nadia. 1867; educ: at the Presidency College, Calcutta, and the Albert Collegiate School, Calcutta; passed B.A., 1890; became articled to his father to qualify himself as Solicitor; enrolled as Attorney; 1898; taken as partner in the firm of Norendra Nath Sen & Co., Solicitors, Calcutta; joined the Staff of the “Indian Mirror”, Calcutta, as Sub-Editor, 1886; became Chief Editor, 1911; entered into an agreement with the Government of Bengal for conducting a vernacular weekly ‘Sulab Samachar’ and carried it on for some time; married the o.d. of late Deno Nath Sen, L.C.E.; 3 s. and 5 d.; Honorary Presidency Magistrate, Calcutta; Registrar of Marriages under Act 3. of 1873 for the town of Calcutta and the 24 Parganas; Secretary, Hindu Marriage Reform League, Calcutta; President, Board of Directors, King’s College Hospital, Calcutta; Vice-President, Central Bengal Union; awarded a Certificate of Honour and was granted a medal on the occasion at the Delhi Durbar of 1911.
