Shereahmed Khan Sardar, C.I.E., Punjab; claims the same descent as the Amir of Afghanistan; b. at Kabul, 1857; received a course of training in Arabic, Mathematics, Surveying, and learnt English privately; taken on the civil political staff and was made Military Assistant Governor of Kabul; made Assistant Political Officer and awarded a medal for services in the Afghan War, 1880; appointed to the Punjab Provincial Civil Service; Political Attache on the Russo-Afghan Frontier; granted an annual pension of 1,000 rupees for life.
