Ujal Singh Sirdar; b. 1858; head of the Dhanaura family; one of the ancestors of this family came to the south and took service under Raja Amar Singh of Patiala in 1770, for which he was granted a quarter share in some of the villages; the family proved very loyal to the British in the Sikh wars and in the Mutiny of 1857; the title of Sirdar is hereditary; divisional Durbaree, exempted from personal attendance in Civil Court Address: Dhanaura, Karnal Punjab, India.
