Walsh, Langton Prendergast, C.I.E. (1890), Political Agent; b. 1856; s. of late Colonel T. P. B. Walsh of Laragh; educ: France, and Oxford; joined service in the Marine Postal Department, 1873; Bombay Political Department, 1879; attached to the Staff of Indian Division at Egypt, 1882; transferred to British Foreign Office, 1884; Consul, Berbera and Zeila, North-East Africa, 1884-92; raised Somali Coast Protectorate Police; operation against Zibril Abuker tribes, 1886; Assistant Political Resident, Kathiawar, Aden and Southern Mahratta territory; Political Agent, Sawantwadi, 1896-1903; retired, 1903.
