DIETSCH, dēch, Heinrich Rudolf (1814-75). A German philologist, born at Mylau. In 1847-62 he was one of the editors of the Neue Jahrbücher für Philologie und Pädagogik. He published a valuable edition of the complete works of Sallust (2 vols., 1843-46; 4th ed. 1874) and a Versuch über Thucydides (1865).
