MOL'LER, Georg (1784-1852). A German architect. He was born in Hanover, and studied architecture in Karlsruhe and Italy. After his return from Italy he was appointed Court architect to the Grand Duke of Hesse. He designed the ducal palace at Wiesbaden, a number of public buildings and private residences at Darmstadt, and the theatre at Mainz. He discovered the original design of the Cologne Cathedral, the two towers of which have been finished in accordance with his published facsimile. His most important publications include Denkmäler deutscher Baukunst (1815-51) and Beiträge zu der Lehre von den Konstruktionen (1833-44).
