Louisa May Alcott

Alcott, Louisa May, daughter of the above, was born in 1833 and died in 1888. Her books for children are perhaps the most popular works of the kind published in this country. Her Hospital Sketches are selections from letters written home from the army in 1863, where she was a volunteer nurse. Her best known books are Little Women, Little Men, Old-Fashioned Girls, Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom.
