Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, in reply to Augusto Bonetti's letter, advised him not to undertake any further steps concerning Metropolitan Theodosius until the College of Cardinals had Studied more fully the question of the transfer of the Macedonian flock into union with the Catholic Church.

Your Excellency,

Your letter has arrived in the department responsible. Since, owing to the complexity of the problem concerning the request of Metropolitan Theodosius to pass with his Macedonian flock into Union, the College of Cardinals has decided to study the question more fundamentally, we advise You not ta take any steps to meet the Metropolitan and to leave everything to time. If the deed is in God's will, it will never be too late to be fulfilled.
