Introduction[edit]
English Translation[edit]
- Workers can recite [Shema] on top of a tree or on top of a wall of stones,
- which they are not permitted to do for tefillah [prayer].
Explanation[edit]
We see in Mishnah Berakhot 1:3 that the physical posture does not matter when reciting Shema (following the opinion of Beit Hillel), whereas the tefillah must be said in a standing position (cite?).
