Subcategories for Pakistan and Bangladesh[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikisource. I see that you creating a lot of sub-categories for regions and districts in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Our usual process is to only create sub-categories when they are needed. This would be when a category has become too large and navigation is assisted by a sub-division. Given that we have only 25 articles in Category:Pakistan and 5 articles in Category:Bangladesh, the need to subdivide them is not there. Because of this, can you please stop creating new sub-categories? Any sub-categories that are currently empty of articles will be deleted soon.

In terms of helping users find works that relate to Pakistan and Bangladesh, the best places to add their links to are Portal:Pakistan and Portal:Bangladesh. Thanks, Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:37, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Enough of the sub-categories actually, they are not needed for Wikisource. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:47, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
To add some more detail to this. We will basically never get articles that are going to be able to be populated into these categories so we have people navigating down category trees, and find that there is nothing there to see. We generally only create sub-cat either when it is necessary to further subdivide a category, or there is a definable benefit in splitting categories further. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:08, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
