Welcome
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikisource! I'm sorry you think that your contribution was barely worth the effort. Might I ask why you feel this way? This might be beneficial for us to improve somewhere so that we might be able to make something easier for new users and not scare anyone away. Thanks!—Zhaladshar (Talk) 03:47, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Zhaladshar, I probably wasn't clear in my comments on the 'starting new comments' page. I meant that figuring out how to create a new source took me more effort than I thought it should. One of the main benefits of Wikisource over Gutenberg and other similar sites is that it is so easy for people to add new texts (for example Gutenberg requires mailing in a copy of the title page to get permission first--which may not seem like much but like most bureacracy has the effect of detering people). Personally, I think that there should be a 'create a new source' box on the main page located prominently. I'm adding a recommedation to this effect to the main page discussion. - That sounds like a good idea. Also note, that if you just type the title into the search bar, and hit "Go," if the work doesn't exist on WS, then you'll be taken to a screen that will prompt you to add the work yourself. Just thought I'd mention that for future reference.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 16:08, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Template
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you were having trouble with the author template. For good documentation on how to use it, go to Template talk:Author. It's very detailed and straightforward.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 20:52, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, that's a help. It's not intuitive to me that the syntax be in the discussion page and I suspect I'm not the first to see the only Template:Author and hit a dead end. Too bad the template isn't editable or I'd add a 'see talk for usage' note. Antonrojo 19:17, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Antonrojo. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Antonrojo~enwikisource that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
