• I also have some concerns about these works. I had marked these works with {{translator?}} before seeing John had left the above note. There will be an additional license on the english version of these works that need to be accounted for. If you cannot figure out who the translator was; they are short enough works we can probably get find someone willing to do a new translation (that is if you have a copy in latin or whatever the original language was). Any further information you can give us about these works and the copies you have would be useful and would allow us to help you search for the information as well. We usually keep additional information about the edition and where it was published on the talk page using {{textinfo}}. I would also suggest that informationyou have put in the <ref> would be better put in the "notes" parameter of the {{header}}. Currently the "notes" on all 4 works say "4th December 1891, Skopje" which I can only imagine is a mistake from copy and pasting the template from one work to the other three. Hi John and Brigitte. The author died in 1903. The translation to English is mine, from the book "Documents on the struggle of the Macedonian people for independence and a nation-state", published in Skopje 1895 by the Faculty of Philosophy and History in the University of "Ciril and Methodius". I guess it would be the best if I put a wikitranslation tag on the pages. I also accept the suggestions regarding the edition and "notes". --GStojanov 01:33, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Could you edit "Author:Cardinal Ramponi", filling in any blanks that you know. We need to identify this person so anyone can independently verify the year of death. John Vandenberg 02:04, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Actually the year was for the Archbishop Augusto Bonetti. The Cardinal Ramponi was only signing the letter, and the letter is authored by "The congregation for the propagation of the faith" (A cardinal committee). I updated the page for the Bishop Augusto Bonetti with the information that I was able to find. --GStojanov 02:22, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

In commenting on this at John's talk page I said "After looking through http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org I can find no record of a Cardinal Ramponi. The closest thing that I can find for the time period is Mariano Rampolla del Tindaro. He was Secretary of State at the time, so there is good reason to believe that he is the intended person. Still, I can't say for sure. The problem may be one of transliteration. When we have our own translations we should at least have a link to the original language version so that these things could be checked out when they occur." Eradicating Macedonians - Greek document from 1982

I question the title you have chosen for this document. I don't know what level of English you understand (which would be useful information to put on you userpage). Since you are working with translated documents I imagine ir may not be a native level. To a native English speaker the phrase "Eradicating (insert ethnic group here)" would be intended to describe programs along the line of the genocide methods Nazi's adopted in WWII. The document describes a much diifferent sort of programs than title had me expecting. Would you consider moving this page to different title?--BirgitteSB 17:38, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Brigitte. I'm not a native english speaker. English is my second language. I also had some doubts regarding this title. Suppressing was what I was also contemplating. The article talks about a program for a cultural genocide (erradication of the local Macedonian language/dialect and culture). I'm open for suggestions. Also, is there an easy way to change the title (aprat from opening a new one with the correct name, and marking the old one for deletion). --GStojanov (talk) 18:24, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes there should be tab at the top of the page marked "move" similar to the one marked "edit". You then type in the new title and everything is transfered. I would name it something like Greek Ministry of Public Security Protocol 6502/7-3042. I don't really like descriptive titles but something like Greek Protocol for Controlling the Concept of "Macedonia". "Macedonians" reads as "people" not "concept". And they really don't propose eracicating the idea of Macedonia itself just certain applications that they see as non-Greek. Or I guess you could call it Greek Protocol for a Program of Propoganda Regarding Macedonia. It would be better if we knew the name of the codename of this program but I can't see it in this document.--BirgitteSB 20:24, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if there are copyright issues here. It is a government document. It was secret before it leaked, but now it is widely published, and the Greek government did not react at it (did not deny it). I didn't know about the existence of wikileaks. It may be a better place than the Wikisource. Let me take a look, and I may decide to publish it there, so then we can remove it from Wikisource. --GStojanov (talk) 14:15, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I am not sure this document is a copyright violation because it does not give reliable sources (at least none that I can find); therefore, IMO, it may have been specifically invented (forged?) for propagation over the internet. Of course I may be wrong in this assumption - if the document is genuine, then I cannot speak of its copyright.Of course, I will try looking into it myself. Well the document was created by someone on or after 1982, and therefore it has a copyright. If it has a Greek goverment copyright and they did not want this publicized they will not release thier copyright. If is was by someone else intending to fool people into believing it was written by the Greek goverment then they will hardly admit that they wrote in order to release copyright.--BirgitteSB 15:34, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

History of publication

Hi GS, do you have any idea how that alleged Greek secret services document first became known to us the public, and its publication history? My earliest tracking in the public domain currently places it in February 2008. I still dont know if it is genuine and quite frankly I am not sure how to verify it. I don't have an idea how this document leaked. I've seen it for the first time this spring (2008). The document itself provides a lot of clues: time, date, issuing institution, its creator, a handwritten PASOK. I've read a report that the document and the accompanied policy was created in response to the PASOK victory in 1982. You may be able to ask the question of originallity directly to the PASOK party or even Greek gov officials. I would not be surprised if they plain admit it, or even boast with it. The policy described in the document is not regarded as shameful in Greece, but rather a very patriotic one. Even in the last ellections (Sep 2007) similar political vews were advanced by all political parties in Greece, and were even used in their campaigns. --GStojanov (talk) 13:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Headers

Hi! I've recently tidied the header at Orohydrography of Macedonia and I have a few tips for you about proper use of {{header}}

• Don't use "header2" it is an obsolete, but pernicious, redirect to "header"
• Add the "year" parameter, this will categorise your work
• Link to authors locally, and if you need to, create the relevant Author: page. This is much better than linking to Wikipedia as it allows others to see what else Wikisource has by that author. You can add a link to Wikipedia from the author page.
• If you translate a work yourself, put the "translator" parameter as "Wikisource".
