USSaL review[edit]

Hi,

Finally had some free time to look into your efforts and thought I better chime in.

First - I think you are doing extra work with some of the volumes already processed. Our source is THE source (User:Tarmstro99) for the volumes "we've" set up & can be found here if you missed it...

...As you can see, those volumes are available in formats you folks can build upon already.

Second - I have a question about Volume 33 (parts 1 & 2). While it seems some pages after 1287 might be "missing", I don't see where you get they are missing all the way up to p. 2304. Vol. 33, Part 2 starts with p. 1291, so if any at all, there may be a couple of pages not accounted for max; not ~500+

Hi Mr. Orwell,

My review only showed text for TOCs here at Wikisource for volumes 1 and 33 and partial volumes here and there. I added the text for the TOC for volume 27 except for private laws and treaties pages. At http://legisworks.org, we're using the volume PDF files from http://constitution.org which contain public laws, resolutions, and Presidential proclamations.

In volume 27, I also added a few links for the page numbers in the TOC at: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:United_States_Statutes_at_Large_Volume_27.djvu/2. I'd prefer to link to small PDF docs of the resource, but I saw the example at volume 1. Is this the right approach? I still need to set up the transcluded TOC.

Most everything I've seen you do to date is just fine. Carry-on.

My point was, unless something has changed since the last time "we" checked, hardly any of the pre-WWII SaLs at Constitution.org have the entire content in their PDFs. They only had the laws and resolutions at best - no treaties, proclamations etc. I thought the files at the link I gave above might be a better option for your project since they are far more complete save a blank page here or there & was all the reason for mentioning it. Just ignore it otherwise.

The other point was about Vol 33 and range of pages listed as "missing" at your site - it seems incorrect considering part2 of Volume 33 "starts" with page no. 1291 as far as I can tell (e.g. it seems "you" skipped Part2 completely ). -- George Orwell III (talk) 02:49, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Statutes at Large...[edit]

Wikisource also happens to have a set of English Statutes at Large up to around 1762 or so. If you were interested in making available legislative material.... ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 21:08, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks much for letting me know, ShakespeareFan00. Currently, I'm interested in the US Statutes at Large to increase coverage for http://LegisLink.org/us which is used at Wikipedia through {{USStat}}. Adding LegisLink.org/uk/ is always a possibility. (https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Ruffhead_-_The_Statutes_at_Large,_1763.djvu, right?) Joecarmel (talk) 22:02, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes in respect of the link (and the subsquent volumes.).ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 10:56, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
