Vision (Tarnowski)[edit]

Thank you for the addition at Vision (Tarnowski).

Is this translation your own? Has the English translation been published? When and where? That information needs to be included as well as the information about the original text.

The translation also needs a license tag at the bottom. What sort of license will depend on the answers to the question above (and possibly other issues). --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:50, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear EncycloPetey, (@EncycloPetey:)
I'm very sorry for my late response. Yes, Vision (Tarnowski). this is my own translation of poem by Władysław Tarnowski. The original and translation were published in Pieśni niemieckie Władysława Tarnowskiego, ed. Marcin Tarnowski (M.Tarnowski (talk) 11:45, 8 September 2018 (UTC)), publ, PWN & Marcin Tarnowski, Warsaw-Lodz, 2017. At the moment I do not remember pages. Also other translations of poems from this book, or from Utwory instrumentalne Władysława Tarnowskiego (new book sent to the printing press in recent days) and Pieśni polskie Władysława Tarnowskiego (I'm still working on this book)...[reply]
I'm very sorry once again,
Yours faithfully,

Your poem translations[edit]

Hey, I'd like to help get your poem translations fixed up.

I created Author:Marcin Tarnowski for all your published translations that are hosted here. Can you confirm that all of the works listed there are all published, translated by you, and released under a CC-BY-SA-3.0 license? If so, have you already contacted OTRS to confirm that you agree to release your published works under this license?

Your unpublished translations can remain in Translation namespace where you have done an excellent job so far. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 03:08, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Beleg Tâl,
@Beleg Tâl:
  1. Thank you very much for your help and for creating by you: Author:Marcin Tarnowski...
  2. I confirm that all my translations I have published in Wikisource are under CC-BY-SA-3.0 license.
  3. I didn't contact with OTRS on this matter because I considered that I was free to publish translations because: a) the originals are in the public domain; and b) the person who published the translations and the author of the translations, that's me. (Translations uploaded by someone who is the copyright holder.) But you are mentioning this to me. Is it a formal problem?
Yours faithfully,
Marcin Tarnowski (M.Tarnowski (talk) 12:31, 23 October 2019 (UTC))[reply]
There are several reasons we ask published authors to inform OTRS.
  1. We do not want people to steal your work by pretending to be you.
  2. We want to make sure that there is a formal record in the future, even after you stop responding to questions on Wikisource.
  3. If Utwory instrumentalne Władysława Tarnowskiego is not already published under CC-BY-SA-3.0, people might see that it is copyrighted and they might want to delete the poems from Wikisource.
  4. We want to make it clear that there are different rules for the published works that you have added as a published author, and for the unpublished works you have added as a Wikimedia user
All you have to do is email permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with a clear statement that your user account User:M.Tarnowski is authorized to license your works. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 13:44, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Beleg Tâl,
@Beleg Tâl:
Ok. Thanks once again.
Yours sincerely,
Marcin Tarnowski (M.Tarnowski (talk) 15:10, 23 October 2019 (UTC))[reply]

Wikisource original translation must reside in the Translation namespace. I have moved this translation to Translation:Baltic to Tatras, sonnets / I. The Sigh of the Baltic in accordance with policy. --22:01, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Addendum: I fthere are any edits that need to be transferred to the copy in the Translation namespace, please move them now. I will wait a bit before deleting the mainspace copy. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:05, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@EncycloPetey:
Dear EncycloPetey,
  1. Thank you very much. However, you started renaming before I finished editing. Please note, that the title Baltic to Tatras, sonnets was from the beginning with Translation (Translation:Baltic to Tatras, sonnets).
  2. You're writing to me: "I fthere are any edits that need to be transferred to the copy in the Translation namespace, please move them now." Well, I hope everything's okay now. But if I missed something, please tell me about it.
Yours sincerely,
--M.Tarnowski (talk) 05:31, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
