Protection[edit]

Hi MateoP, I noticed that you put in a request for protection of Press Briefing by Ruben Barrales, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Kevin Marshall, Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Office of Legal Counsel, Department of Justice on Puerto Rico's Status on the administrators talk page. This is unlikely to be granted for reasons set out in Wikisource:Protection policy (no info box info on source, etc as noted in Wikisource:Text quality and Help:Guidelines on adding a new document to Wikisource. There is a bit of a process to go through to determine accuracy/copyright status, etc before a document can be protected but if it goes through this pease note it on Wikisource:Protection requests & it is likely to be approved (though personally I'd suggest shortening the title of the document for convenience in searching, etc). Merry Christmas & a happy Hogmanay. AllanHainey 12:51, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, For press releases we don't have a specific policy on titles though I'd say that is is ok to shorten the title (as I see you've done) so long as the official title is given in the document. I like the fact that you've made the long title into a redirect as that'll ensure that if someone searches for it they'll find it. Personally (for the sake of ease of reading) I'd replace the long title listing on Wikisource:Press with the short title Press Briefing on Puerto Rico's Status (December 22, 2005), though I'd agree with Brigitte's comment on the talk page that you should note in the title that the press release is by the USA (Originally, from just reading the long title, I thought it was by the assistant to the President of Puerto Rico). You could do this by writing [[Press Briefing on Puerto Rico's Status (December 22, 2005)| USA Press Briefing on Puerto Rico's Status (December 22, 2005)]]
Regardless of the title we give the document as long as the official tile is noted in the document it is still a proper source document.

Thanks for adding the document AllanHainey 12:46, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had a question[edit]

I left you a note about the press briefing on it's disscusion page. If you could respond there I would appreciate it, I would like to add a link before it is protected.--BirgitteSB 21:38, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
