File uploaded[edit]

Hi. You have updated File:Dick Turpin trial document thomas kyll.pdf, there are better means for getting documents to Wikisource. For the sake of proofreading it is far better if the document can be in .djvu format. You can convert PDF to DJVU online at http://any2djvu.djvuzone.org/ . Then, if the file is in the public domain, it is actually better for the file to be uploaded to Commons: as the file can then be accessed across all the Wikimedia projects. Before work is done on the document, it would be great if we can get these bits addressed. If you need advice or assistance, then either initially try Scriptorium otherwise drop a note on my talk page. Thx.-- billinghurst (talk) 10:31, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks for the tip. I've done everything you asked, and you can find the document at Dick Turpin. Parrot of Doom (talk) 15:59, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You silly duffer, you stuck the beast on Wikipedia, however, not to worry, I moved it Commons. I have created Index:Dick Turpin trial.djvu and had a go at one page. It OCR'd quite well. Take a squizz at proofreading page, give it a go, and ask questions. I have put your page on watch, so you can ask questions at {WS:Scriptorium]], here and use {{talkback}} to get my specific attention. billinghurst (talk) 23:09, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Note to have the OCR button available, you will need to activate it through your Gadgets at Special:preferences.
Plus do look at Category:Typography templates as you will need to work out whether you want to use it in the Page: environment or not. Note that when we transclude pages from Page: to main namespace the ſ converts to a standard s for readability, like so s.billinghurst (talk) 23:14, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have the page working fine in the article, and to be honest that's probably going to be the extent of my involvement here (until I upload more). Thanks for the help though, I'd love to help but I simply have too much to do over at en.wiki. Parrot of Doom (talk) 13:39, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
