To the Bird copyright[edit]

There will be two existing copyrights for this work, that is the original, and the translation. We need both licences to be in place. The applied licence may be right if you did the translation, or can demonstrate that the translation has been released by the translator. Either way, we need to have it using {{translation licence}} and the two components within, as previously demonstrated. -- billinghurst (talk) 10:52, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • What is the original year of publication? Hoping that it was pre-1923.
  • What is the original year of publication of the translation?
  • Do we have permission for the translators to host their work?
  • Can we demonstrate that we have that permissions?

The original year of publication: 1891
The original year of publication of the translation: 2009
We have permission for the translators to host their work
Is it crucial to demonstrate permissions?

The Encyclopedist (talk) 16:42, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is required to demonstrate permission as the transcribers have a copyright on the work, and we need their permission to have it in the public domain. The usual requirement is for permission to be provided as per Commons:OTRS. For us that documentation needs to be sent to mailto:info@wikisource.org. My apologies for not seeing your response, I must have received a cached copy of the page when I checked. <shrug> -- billinghurst (talk) 09:25, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Since I am not accustomed with the legal terms would you be so kind to put here a draft of the required permission and I will have the transcribers signed it. The Encyclopedist (talk) 05:36, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Instructions with a pattern letter for acknowledging a licensed release (permission), can be found at this location. ResScholar (talk) Except the e-mail should be addressed to permissions@wikimedia.org. 05:28, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Encyclopedist, permissions@wikimedia.org wrote me, when I inquired, and said they never got the permission verifications. I suggest you resend the verifications to them, making sure it is indeed addressed to permissions@wikimedia.org. ResScholar (talk) 04:17, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
