This page allows users to request that an existing bot accomplish a given task. Note that some tasks may require that an entirely new bot or script be written. This is not the place to ask for help running or writing a bot.
A bot operating performing a task should make note of it so that other bots don't attempt to do the same. Tasks that are permanently assigned or scheduled for long-term execution are listed on Persistent tasks.

[edit] Volume information for EB1911
At the moment I am working through a backlog of Wikipedia pages that cite the Wikisource EB1911, the trouble is that many of them need to be attributed to the source as they are in part or totally a copy of an EB1911 article on wikisource.
Some of the information that is needed for a full citation is the volume and page number. As there are lists of EB1911 articles for each volume available eg 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica/Vol 1:1 it should be fairly easy to automate the placement of a volume=number parameter into the {{EB1911}} template at the top of each page. The only two problems I foresee are that some links will be red, and some pages already have a volume parameter set. Is there a bot jock who would like to take this on?
Once the task is finished we can put a test in the header to create a maintenance category to see how many pages there are that use the header template but do not have the volume parameter set. We can use that to trace pages that have not been included in a volume index. -- Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 00:38, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
