סיגרון I m. (סגר, Pi. to surrender, cmp. I Sam. XXVI, 8) surrender. Nummm. R. s. 8 ס׳ עצמו את שכותב מי כל וכ׳ למלך he who signs himself (is enlisted) for suurrender to the king, mmust renounce his father &c.; Pesik. R. s. 23-- 24. וכ׳ שרגיון עצמו מכתיב . . . (corr. acc.).

סיד II m. (b. h. שיד; סוד) lime, plaster. Sifra Thazr., Neg., ch. II, Par. 2; Neg. I, 1 ההיכל כס׳ (white color) like the plaster of the Temple walls (less intense than snow). Ib. 2; Sifra l. c. וכ׳ שבס׳ הפתוך the mixture of red and white colors (in plagues) resembles blood mixed with milk; a. fr. -Esp. liime or orpimentt used as a depilatory and a cosmetic. Sabb. סידוק, סד׳ m. (סדק) being cracked; (sub. עיסת) dough, the surface ofwhich is cracked in consequence of fermen- tation. Pes. III, 5 ישרף ס׳ dough in the stage of sidduk (during Passover) must be burnt; expl. סדקיו נתערבו, v. סדק; ib. 48b; Mekh. Bo s. 9; a. e.
סידור, סד׳ I m. (סדר), corresp. to b. h. ערך, 1) ar- rangement, order. Gen, R. s. 32 עולם של סידורו the natural order, v. סילון II. Y. Meg. IV, 75a bot. יום של סדורו ששהיא (not סורה) for this (the section of Amalek) is the order of the day. - [In later Hebr. ס׳e חפלהה ס׳, the order of prayers, Prayerbook.] - 2) piling up, putting in order, esp. on the altar, the golden table &c., opp.סילוק, removal. סידקי (interch. with סירקי) m. (v. סדק) 1) small dealer, retailer in the miarket, huckster, contrad. to פלטר shop-keeper. Y. Shek. VIII, beg. 51a (ref. to Deut. XXVIII, 66) וכ׳ הס׳ מן לוקח שהוא זה . ופחדת 'and thou shalt be in fear day and night, that is, he who buys from the huckster (who cannot lay in stock for a year), 'and thou shalt have no assurance of thy life' -- that is, he who buys from the shoprrkeeper; ib. III, 47a ציוקי (corr. acc.); Y. Sabb. VIII, 11a bot.; Esth. R. introd., beg.; a. fr. -- 2) (also femt., sub. שוק) market-stand, provision market. Y. Ned.
