Macdonald, (Sir) James (Bart.), s. Archibald, of St. Martin's, London, equitis (after baronet). Christ Church, matric. 15 May, 1801, aged 17; B.A. 1805, 2nd baronet, a student of Lincoln's Inn 1804, a clerk of the privy seal, M.P. Kirkwall burghs (June) 1805-6, Newcastle-under-Lyme 1806-12, Sutherlandshire 1812-16, Calne 1816-31, Hampshire 1831-2, a commissioner for Indian affairs 1827-8 & 1830-2, appointed lord high commissioner of the Ionian Islands 2 June, 1832, but died 29th of the same month.
