DECREE, DECREET, the judgment of a court of justice, and, in English law, more particularly the judg ment of a court of equity. A decree nisi is the conditional order for a dissolution of marriage made by the court for divorce and matrimonial causes, which will be made absolute after six months, in the absence of sufficient cause shown to the contrary.
