Executive Order 573

It is hereby ordered that all public lands situated at Cape Fanshaw, Alaska, at the junction of Frederick Sound and Fanshaw Bay, nearly due east of Sitka, Alaska, which are included within metes and bounds described as follows, be, and hereby are, reserved from sale or other disposition and set apart as a military reservation in connection with the protection and maintenance of a cable station thereon, viz:


"Commencing at the extreme westerly point of Cape Fanshaw at the top of a rock known and charted as Astronomical Station, following the shore line past Canoe Point in a northeast and easterly direction to a stone monument on the north shore, approximately one and three-eighths (138) miles east and one-half (½) mile north of the point of commencement; thence due south to a stone monument on the opposite south shore; thence following the shore westerly to the point of commencement at Astronomical Station at the extremity of Cape Fanshaw."
