Description
English: Third of the four illustrations included in the edition of Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle published in 1894 by A. L. Burt in New York. It illustrates a scene from the story "The Adventure of the Reigate Squires" (known as "The Adventure of the Reigate Puzzle" in this edition). Original caption in Harper's Weekly was "There cannot be the least doubt in the world that it has been written by two persons."[1]
