Summary
| Description |
English: Intake No. 1 from north bank of the Imperial Canal January 22, 1905. The wooden Chaffey Head Gates were constructed downstream to control the flow of water in the Imperial Canal. This was the initial cut made by the California Development Company in 1901. The first waters delivered to the Imperial County farmers passed through this cut in the Colorado River bank. Plagued by endless silting and dredging this intake was later abandoned. |
