This copy was owned by John Adams (30 October 1735 – 4 July 1826), the second President of the United States, whose signature appears on the title page and inside back cover. The work contains numerous annotations in Adams' hand, transcriptions of which are available from the Rare Books and Manuscripts Department of the Boston Public Library.
