Better OCR and another tool[edit]

You will find a far better OCR of the same text here. The text and the pages numbers are the same ones as the previous OCR's so copy-pasting it makes things better easily.--Zyephyrus (talk) 15:45, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

—and still better this one.
And have you noticed a very useful tool in the WikiEd menu: a button to convert formatted ordinary text into wikified text with only one click? --Zyephyrus (talk) 09:19, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I tried WikEd at one point, and found that under the old PAGE: format that it was a little problematic. Though I suppose that I could try it again, and talk to Thomas to see if we can have a nice merge function. With Firefox, I also find it very useful to have a Dictionary installed as a plugin, and to have the Check Speeling <g> turned on and highlighted. -- billinghurst (talk) 21:53, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This scan at archive.org includes several pages that are missing in this version. If this book were abandoned, I would probably just overwrite the old version at commons... as it is, I suggest taking this text and moving the currently typed pages into place. I know there is someone around here capable of reordering Page: namespace pages the right way... I just forget who it is. Having the opening pages and a clear scan of the entire book will help this project get started. I will gladly help a bit, too.--Mkoyle (talk) 01:25, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposition about how to format titles[edit]

If you agree, a possibility might be this :

FIRST BOOK

the philosophy of the renaissance
[edit]

A. The Discovery of the Natural Man[edit]

Burckhardt, in his famous treaties, Die Kultur der Renaissance in Italie, charades the Italian renaissance as the discovery of man. The historical conditions led to

obtained like this:

{{c/s}}
=== FIRST BOOK

{{sc|the philosophy of the renaissance}} ===

====={{sc| A. The Discovery of the Natural Man}} =====
{{c/e}}

Burckhardt, in his famous treaties, ''Die Kultur der Renaissance in Italie'', charades the Italian renaissance as the discovery of man. The historical conditions led to

You can see the result here. Is it ok?

The next division was written differently in different parts (see for instance Book I and Book VII), I will first go on with correcting the encoding bugs, here is an image to make what I mean understood, then I will come back to how to write this division. --Zyephyrus (talk) 23:58, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep red links?[edit]

Hi all,

The red Table of Contents will be removed when we transclude the corresponding proofread page. Do you wish that I correct the links in order to have them blue, I mean: linked to the Main space? (Red is a pretty color ;-) ) --Zyephyrus (talk) 16:39, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
