Defaults push hard in empty fields[edit]

I have noticed, and think that it is a new behaviour (of which I may be deluding myself) in that when a default value is set in a field in this file, that when an Index: page is saved that fields that are left empty collect the default field. When the field is again edited and emptied, it will still be applied. In a number of fields this is not a problem, as we always fill the field, though for something like the footer field this is problematic where one may wish to have that empty rather than populated with <reference /> or whatever. Anyway, this is to explain why I removed the default value for the footer field. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:29, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
