Rumsey, Almaric, B.A. St. Mary Hall, Oxon (1st class mathematics), from Rugby, professor of Indian jurisprudence at King's Coll., London, since 1879, assistant solicitor to H.M.'s customs May, 1868, to April, 1875, member of joint Board of Examiners Inns of Court 1877–81, author of The Law of Mohammedan Inheritance, A Chart of Hindu Family Inheritance, and A Treatise on the Judicature Acts, a student of Lincoln's Inn 24 Jan., 1854 (then aged 29), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1857 (2nd son of Lacy Rumsey, Esq., clerk in H.M.'s treasury); born 31 Dec., 1825; married 11 Jan., 1872, Caroline Montagu, dau. of Thomas John Pittar, Esq., of H.M.'s customs (see Foster's Peerage, D. Marlborough).
