At Dalnacardoch, the road from Crieff, and from Rannoch, joins the Blair road, and when united, goes on to Inverness.

From Dalnacardoch to Dalwhinie inn, 13 miles.

You will drive by the River Garrie, till you can see it issuing from Loch Garrie, of which you will have a fine view from the small bridge over a burn, which you will cross within sight of the lake. At Dalwhinie you will find a very neat inn to sleep at. From Dalwhinie walk to see the head of Loch Ericht, which lies from north to south, and communicates with Loch Rannoch, by a river, at the distance of about eight miles, but there is no road of communication. Dalwhinie is in Inverneſsshire; and the district you pass, between it and Pitmain inn, is part of the country called Badenoch. Within half a mile after you quit Dalwhinie, you will see a road to the left, over wild mountains; it goes to Fort Augustus, over Corryarraick.
