Telescope of two feet focal length and a good Astronomical Clock and a similar set of Duplicates will be necessary for the Observation at Portsmouth.

Lastly it is recommended by the Council that the respective times of Clock and Watch be entered in a Register at least once a day upon the voyage.

Given by Order of the Lords of the Admiralty on an application by Mr. Harrison.

Mr. John Harrison after this did as before continue his attendance at the Admiralty and oftimes wrote to his Son who still continued waiting at Portsmouth for Orders. Mr. Wm. Harrison during this long conifinement at Portsmouth sent the following letter to Lord Anson.

My Lord,

I hope you will excuse my taking this great liberty, for it is with the greatest submission I make bold to trouble your Lordship and am sorry that I should have this occasion.
