name, as I have elsewhere ^^^ pointed out, is an obvious derivative of the mistletoe ('I^twz/ from tfo?), and whose nature, as is commonly admitted,**^^^ was that of a sun-god. Thus both mythology and ritual attest the connection between mistletoe, especially oak-mistletoe, and the sun.
