The Wings of Death
An armored French Caudron battle-plane (above), equipped with two engines, and a central fuselege which carries the pilot, observer, and a heavy machine gun. These machines are recent developments, but are giving very good account of themselves.
The result of a well-placed German shell, putting out of commission one of the Le Rhône rotary motors with which this machine is equipped. This is the same type of aeroplane as that shown in the illustration at the top of the page. Note the effects of the shrapnel upon the engine and the fuselege of the aeroplane
