Commissioners have been or are to be relieved of their judicial functions, except that the Commissioner will still be Sessions Judge for the Hill District of Arakan, Kyankpyu, Sandoway, Myitkyina, Putao, and Bhamo.

Similarly Deputy Commissioners will cease to be District Judges except in the last mentioned districts and in the Upper Chindwin. The Divisional and Sessions Judge of Amherst will be Sessions Judge in Salween.
