OPENING OF THE 1969 EASTER SEAL CAMPAIGN SCENARIO CON'T:

The Easter Seal Child, Donna Kay Howell, was a victim of a rare childhood stroke at the age of four. She suffered com­plete paralysis of the right side of her body and was unable to walk or stand. In· addition, she suffered a serious speech involve­ment. Following referral to the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in Tallahassee, Donna Kay made full recovery from her speech defect, but still receives therapy at the Center to correct a slight limp and restore full use of her right side.

The National Easter Seal Society is the oldest and largest voluntary agency serving the handicapped. It has some 2,000 affiliates which maintain 2,500 rehabilitation facilities and programs. These affiliates provide services to some 253,000 patients regardless of race, religion, national background, economic status, or cause of crippling.

This years Easter Seal Campaign will run to April 6th and is the major source of support of this $32 million program for professional treatment for crippled children and adults.

It is estimated that your participation will last approximately 10--15 minutes at the conclusion of which you will be escorted back to your office.
