CONGRESSIONAL RECEPTION
THE WHITE HOUSE
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 1969

PRESIDENT'S SCENARIO:

At 6:35 p.m. you and the First Lady will be escorted from the Family Quarters of the Residence to the staircase, which you will descend preceded by a Color Guard.

Following Ruffles and Flourishes, Hail to the Chief, and being announced, you and Mrs. Nixon will enter the East Room passing through to the Green Room and on to the Blue Room.

In the Blue Room you and Mrs. Nixon will form a receiving line. There are approximately 350 guests and it is estimated that it will take an hour to receive all the guests.

NOTE:

A White House photographer will be present for photographs.

Refreshments will be served in the State Dining Room and there will be dancing in the East Room.

The reception is scheduled to last until 8:00 p. m. and a microphone will be available in the East Room, if you should choose to make informal remarks.

There will be limited press coverage.
