f Adicr Hatred. J Add or intend- ing to tre pafs. TO the Intent that TrefpaiTers in Forefts, Chafes, Parks, and Warrens, may more wa- rily fear hereafter to enter and trefpafs in the fame, than they have heretofore, Our Lord the King, at his Parliament after Eajier, the xxi Year of his Reign, at the Inftance of the Nobles of his Realm, hath granted and commanded to be from henceforth firmly obferved, That if any Forefter, Parker, or Warrener fhall find any Trefpaflers wan- dring within his Liberty, intending to do Damage therein, and that will not yield themfelves to the Fo- refters, Warreners, or Parkers, after Hue and Cry made to ftand unto the Peace, but do continue their Malice, and, difobeying the King's Peace, do flee, or defend themfelves with Force and Arms ; although fuch Forefters, Parkers, and Warreners, or any other coming in their Company, and aiding fuch Forefters, Parkers, and Warreners in the King's Peace, do kill any Offender or Offenders being fo found, either in arrefting or "taking them, or any of them, they fhall not be troubled upon the fame be- fore the King * and his Juftices, or before any other the King's Bailiffs, or any other within any Fran- chife or without, nor fhall leefe for fo doing either Life or Limb, or fuffer any other Pun ifhment, but fhall enjoy the King's Peace as they did before. ' II. Notwithftanding, let all fuch Forefters, Park- ers, Warreners, and all other beware, that by rea- fon of any Malice, Difcord, Debate, or other evil Will f had before time, they do not malicioufly pre- tend againft any Perfon paffing through their Liber- ties, that they came thither for to trefpafs or mifdo, when of truth they did nothing, nor were not found as Trefpaffers %, and fo kill them ; for if they do, and be convidt thereupon, the Death of fuch Perfons fhall be inquired, and Execution fhall be done, in like manner as is done for other of the King's Sub- jects ftanding in his Peace, and like as it ought to be done of Right, and according to the Law and Cuftom of the Realm.'
