CAP. IV. The Juftices of the Peace of Middle/ex may keep their Seffions but twice in the Year. Saving to inquire ' c( Rir>:: or !or- c cible Efitrits. «  T E M, Whereas it was ordained by a Statute, That the Juftices of Peace of all the Counties of " England, for the Time being, fhall fit and hold their " Seffions four Times by the Year, to inquire and " execute all Charges contained in their Commiffion, " which they be fworn to do according to the Form " of the faid Statute, upon a great Pain, as by the " fame Statute more fully appeareth : (2) Our Lord " the King, confidering that all the high Courts be " fet and holden in the County of Middlefex, conti- " nually during all the Four Times of the Term, by " which Time of Term the Commons inhabiting in " and of the fame County, muft attend from Time to " Time to inquire of all the Articles to the faid Courts " belonging, as Reafon and Law requireth, and that " prefently after every of the faid Terms ended, the " faid Juftices of the laid County do fit and hold their " Seffions in the fame County, as they ought to do, " by Force of the faid Statute, more to avoid the faid " Penalty, than for any other neceffary Thing there " to be inquired, at which Seffions they caufe to come " before them a great Part of the Inhabitants and " Commons of the faid County of Middlefex, to in- " quire of all Manner of Things as to them is given " in Charge ; and by that Means they be charged and " vexed throughout all the Year, as well out of the " Time of Term, as in Time of Term, fo that they " have no Reft, nor Time to do their Husbandry, " and their Labour, to get their Living in any wife, " to their utter Undoing if they be not relieved in this " Behalf." ' (3) Therefore the fame our Lord the ' King willing in this Cafe to provide for them a Re- ' medy, hath ordained, by the Advice and Affent afbre- ' faid, and at the Requeft of the faid Commons of the ' P.ealro, That the Juftices of Peace which now be, ' and all other hereafter for the Time being, in the ' faid County of Middlefex, fhall be clearly discharged ' of the faid Penalty, by Authority of the fame Par- ' liament, from henceforth, the Court of the King's ' Bench being fet in the faid County of Middljcx. Purveu toutz foitz qe les ditz juftices du peas del dit ountee de Midd' pur le temps efteantz gardent obforvent & executent la courts des feffions du peas deu,; foitz en
