XIV. Provided always, and it is herey enafted by the Authority aforefaid. And to the end all the faid Exchequer Bills which have been iffued by or in purfuance of the 5 Anns, 0,13; ' faid Aft of the fifth Year of her Majefl-y's Reign, which amounted as aforefaid, to fifteen hundred thou- ' fandPounds, for her Majefty's Supply, and to one hundred twenty-three tholiiand three hundred thirty- •' feven Pounds eighteen Shillings and one Penny Halfpenny, in quarterly Bills, computed to Lady Day

  • one thoufand feven hundred and nine, as aforefaid, may be fpeedily paid off, difcharged, and cancelled;

' and that her Majefty and her Exchequer may be effeftually difcharged of and from all Demands of any ' quarterly Bills which were intended to be iffued by that Aft, after Lady Day one thoufand feven hundred

  • and nine, until and for the Quarter to end at Michaelmas one thoufand feven hundred and ten inclufively-;
  • and that the faid Duties on Houfes by this Aft made a Security for Payment of the faid Annuity of one

' may be free and clear from all Pretences to the faid former Allowance of four Pounds ten Shillings per ' Centum per Annum, and all other Incumbrances whatfoever ;' It is hereby provided and enafted, isfc. " Bank to deliver up all Exchequer Bills in their Hands on 31 March 1709, to be cancelled, and difcharge " all the reft, as faft as they can be gotten iru Treafury to fix a peremptory Day, after 24 Ju7te, for " cancelling the Remainder, Bills loft, i^c, before 31 March 1709, on Oath before a Baron, and Secu- " rity. Bank to pay the fame, &c. Allowance of 4 /. o s. per Cent. Aetemnned, 5 Ann:E, c. 13. Bills " to be iffued out at the Treafury, not exceeding 2,500,000/. Such Bills to bear Intereft at 2d, per Diem " for every 100 1. Bank to have an Allowance of 3 /. per Cent, for circulating, &V. But fuch Allowance EXP. " to ceafe in Proportion as the faid Bills fhall be difcharged and cancelled. ' XXII. And for the Encouragement of the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of £'ff^/if7K</, by or ' in purfuance of this and the faid former Afts conftituted, as aforefaid, and their Succeffors, to undertake ' the. Circulation not only of the faid Bills, not exceeding two millions five hundred thoufand Pounds to ' be iffued for her Majefty's Supply, as aforefaid, but alfo of the quarterly Bills to be made forth in fuch ' Manner and Form as are herein after-mentioned ; and to the end a fufncient Fund may be fettled, and ' Provifion made, as well for the Payment of the Intereft after the Rate gf two Pence per Centum per Piem, Vol. IV. y y 'to
