Mojl Gracious Sovereign, ■ H E R K A S the making of Sail-Cloth in Great Britain is of great Ufe and Benefit to the Nation, , y^^_ , ^_ being fet up in feveral Parts of this united Kingdom, imploying many thoufands of the Poor, and j &s IV. 3/ is brought to great Ferfe£tion ; but by the Duties on Hemp and Flax imported, and Drawback on Foreign c. jo, Sr 39. • made Sail-Cl'ih exported, the Makers of 5r/V//& Sail-Cloth have not a fufRcient Encouragement for fo ' ufefularJ beneficial a Manufadlure ;' Therefore we your Majefly's mofl: dutiful and loyal Subjefls, the Comm' 1 , of G?-eai Britain in Parliament affembled, have given and granted to your Majefty fuch additional Duty .;pon Foreign Sail-Cloth to be imported, as is herein after mentioned ; and do mofl: humbly befeech your Majefty, That it may be enaiSted ; And be it enadfed by the Qiieen's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parlia- ment afiembled, and by the Authority of the fame.
