A. D. 1716, Anno tertio Georgii Regis. G. 7. 115 Vance and pay there for purchasing an Annuitv or Annuities at a Rate not exceeding five Pounds per Centum per Annum, to be paid out of the laid general Fund 1 by this Act eftablifhed, and to be redeemable by Parlia- ment according to this Act ; and the laid Commiffioners of the Treafury or High Treafurer and Under 21 "* a PP'y &? Treafurer of the Exchequer for the Time being, are hereby authorized and required to iflue and apply, ^["^'"l^l'r S caufe to be irtued and applied, all the Monies lo to be advanced for or towards paying off the Principalortere, & C . U "" and Intereft upon the laid Lottery Orders, or any of them, and for or towards the paying off the laid Moieties and Arrearages of the faid annual Payments of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, charged or chargeable on the hereditary Excife as aforefaid, and to and for none other Ufe, Intent or Purpofe what- foever. XVII. Provided always, That all the Monies fo to be advanced for purchafing fuch Annuities, not ex- N '°f tacxacA ceeding the faid Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, together with the Monies which fhall have' he ? u ™ ' I " ul been advanced by the faid Companies, or either of them, for or towards paying off the faid Lottery Orders, " ' and the faid Monies charged or chargeable on the hereditary Excife, do not in the whole exceed the Sum total, which /hall be payable to fuch Subfcribers for ready Money as aforefaid, or thofo claiming from or under them, according to the true Meaning of this Act. XVIII. And it is hereby enabled by the Authority aforefaid, That in all Cafes where the Principal and Where Lottery. Intereft payable on the faid Lottery Orders, or any of them, or the faid Moieties of the faid principal Sums 0:d - rs '* c .- ore for which the faid annual Payments are charged on the hereditary Excife, or any of them, with the Arrear-™"^jJ; C3 ,n ^ ages of the fame annual Payments refpectively, fhall be converted into Annuities, or be paid off in ready pa id off in ready Money, purfuant to this Act, the Cuftoms, Subfidies, Impofitions, additional and other Duties, propor- Money, the Du- tional Parts, weekly and other Payments, formerly charged therewith as aforefaid, fhall be and are hereby ties Aall be liable freed, exonerated and difcharged of, from and againft the fame, and fhall be liable for or towards making t °™ ak , e | 00 j tlle good the faid general yearly Fund by this Act intended to be eftablifhed as aforefaid. ' XIX. And whereas the Sum of fixty-one thoufand feven hundred and feven Pounds three Shillings
- and two Pence, or thereabouts, of principal Monies, remains unfatisfied upon the Regifter of Loans
' founded on the Act of Parliament for Duties on Low Wines, and other Things therein mentioned, ' which expired on or about the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and fourteen, 3 &4 Ann - c. 4. Corporate, will advance and pay for purchafing an Annuity or Annuities at a Rate not exceeding five " . the Low Pounds per Centum per Annum, to be paid out of the faid general Fund by this Ad: eftablifhed, and to beg q E6, redeemable by Parliament according to this Act ; and the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury, or High Treafurer and the Under-Treafurer of the Exchequer for the Time being, are hereby authorized and re- quired to iffue and apply, or caufe to be iffued and applied, all the Monies fo to be advanced, for or towards paying off the unfatisfied Principal and Intereft upon the faid Regifter of Loans founded on the Act laft mentioned, taking care that all the Monies fo to be advanced, for the Purpofe laft mentioned, do not ex- ceed the Sum of the Principal and Intereft which doth or fhall remain due on the faid Regifter.
